Corporate Responsibility at DHL
Corporate Responsibility is a core element of our corporate strategy. Acting responsibly as a company means we treat our employees, the environment, the interests of society and the capital that has been entrusted to us in a manner that is respectful and sustainable. Only in this way can we be successful in the long term.
The CSR philosophy is concerned with the long-term development of society, with ethics and morality, with the environment, and with the hopes of current and future generations. Although at its core CSR is about meeting the needs of all stakeholders, the process should always start with self-scrutiny.
For several years now, our company has been working in this area in partnership with the Business Leaders Forum
(BLF) .
In other areas we work with the Czech Environmental Partnership Foundation (Nadace Partnerství ) and the government agency CzechTrade. We attend conferences, seminars and round tables, and we implement our own environmental, social and economic projects.

DHL Prague-to-Bonn Cycle Challenge
On Monday 30 August 2010, 10 DHL staff will set off on a 750 km sponsored relay bike ride from Hvozdy near Prague to the Post Tower in Bonn, to raise money for a disadvantaged community in Hvozdy.
The challenging bike ride is targeted to raise 35,000 EUR for the charity.
All the money raised will go towards Hvozdy Centre, a 24-hours residential home that caters for children and young people between the ages of 15 - 35 with learning difficulties. The center is attempting to survive the difficult economic climate whilst affected by a huge reduction in public funding and overall decline in donations. The money raised will be used to buy much needed new equipment to renew all of the bathrooms in the centre.
